The East Kent area is an oft forgotten part of Vancouver. Located in the Southernmost part of the city, north of the Fraser River, it is mostly industrial with sparse human presence. Despite its distance from the epicenter of the Vancouver homelessness crisis, it is not spared from its tentacles.

This photo-essay doesn’t attempt to provide an exhaustive look but rather seeks to add voice to the East Kent neighborhood and contextualize it in the larger photo narrative of Vancouver. It provides an outsider’s perspective of the outside. The photographs in this essay are intended to be viewed in the sequence in which they appear.
